About this site

Healthcare information that's actually independent.

Refill Relay is a free resource for US patients navigating prescription costs, drug side effects, and medical decisions — with no insurance company, pharmacy chain, or manufacturer telling us what to write.

What Refill Relay is

Refill Relay publishes free, clinically-sourced guides and interactive tools for people navigating the US healthcare and prescription system. Every article is based on FDA data, peer-reviewed research, and clinical literature — written in plain English for patients, not clinicians.

We cover prescription savings strategies, drug side effects, medication comparisons, insurance navigation, and symptom checkers. Our tools — like the Ozempic Teeth Symptom Checker and the Flu/COVID/Strep Checker — are free to use with no sign-up required.

Who we are

Refill Relay is an independent healthcare information publisher. We are not affiliated with any pharmaceutical company, insurance provider, pharmacy chain, or healthcare system. We are not funded by advertisers who influence our editorial content.

Our editorial team researches, writes, and fact-checks every piece of content published on this site. We cite our sources — FDA prescribing data, peer-reviewed journals, and clinical research — at the bottom of every article so you can verify what we say.

Why we built this

The US prescription system is genuinely confusing. A drug can cost $997 per month at one pharmacy and $199 per month through a manufacturer program most patients don't know exists. Insurance prior authorization denials can be appealed and overturned — but most patients don't know how. GoodRx sometimes beats insurance, sometimes doesn't — and the difference can be hundreds of dollars per month.

Most of the healthcare content available online is either funded by the industry it's supposed to be covering objectively, hidden behind a paywall, or written in clinical language that isn't useful to the person who needs it at 10pm trying to figure out what to do about their medication.

Refill Relay exists to fix that gap. Plain language. Cited sources. No paywalls. No sponsored content.
